MANAGEMENT OF THE WOMEN AGRI-PRENUERS OF THE YEAR AWARDS (WAYA) 2023

Adroit Consult International (ACI) was contracted by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) to oversee the prestigious VALUE4HER Women Agripreneurs of the Year Awards 2023 (WAYA 2023). ACI’s pivotal role encompassed a comprehensive evaluation of submissions, rigorous due diligence processes, strategic communications support, and effective partner and sponsor mobilization.

AGRA is a farmer-centred, African-led, partnerships-driven institution that is dedicated to transforming smallholder farming and collaborates with a diverse network of stakeholders, including governments, researchers, development partners, the private sector, and civil society to achieve its mission. AGRA’s unwavering focus on smallholder farmers, particularly women, aligned seamlessly with ACI’s expertise in empowering agricultural entrepreneurs.

The WAYA serves as a catalyst for recognizing and celebrating exceptional African female agripreneurs who exhibit ground-breaking innovation in advancing food security, climate resilience, women’s empowerment, and youth development. As a cornerstone of AGRA’s continental initiative, #VALUE4HER, the WAYA aims to bolster women’s agribusiness enterprises and amplify their voices across the African landscape

Three (3) award categories were contested for during the WAYA2023, namely; Young Female Agripreneurs (Rising Star), Female Ag-Tech Innovator, Outstanding Value-Adding Enterprise, and a Grand Prize was determined as the business demonstrating the overall best potential. These Awards aimed at creating visibility for women Agripreneurs and promoting them as positive role models, trigger innovation, and spur ambition among women Agripreneurs.
